Build the family before the hero image: primary, compact and single-colour variants should prove they can work together.
01 / NOTE
Start with the jobs the mark must do.
List the places the identity will actually appear: navigation, social profiles, invoices, packaging, signage or workwear. The most important contexts should shape the review.
A primary lockup can carry detail that a compact avatar cannot. That is a reason to design related variants, not to force one arrangement into every space.
02 / NOTE
Test contrast, scale and recognition.
Review light, dark and single-colour applications. Reduce the mark until fragile detail or letterforms begin to disappear. Check that the compact version still belongs to the same identity.
Mockups can expose problems, but they do not replace production tests or accessible contrast checks in the final interface.
03 / NOTE
Review originality and rights.
Generated directions can resemble existing shapes, symbols or treatments. Complete appropriate similarity and rights review before adopting a mark publicly.
The final artwork may also need professional refinement and technical preparation for the formats and production methods you plan to use.
