The brand identity vs website design debate has a boring but correct answer: identity first, then site. Doing it the other way around usually means doing both twice.

01 / NOTE

Why identity leads.

A website without a settled identity is just a template with your logo pasted in. Every layout decision becomes arbitrary because there is no reference to check against.

By contrast, once colours, type, voice and marks are agreed, the site almost designs itself.

02 / NOTE

But identity should not be finished before the site.

Identity should be far enough along to guide the site, not so finished that the site cannot influence it. In practice, some choices only become clear once you see them in a real layout.

That is why we treat both together in GPF projects, with a shared source in the brand library.

03 / NOTE

Start with the smallest useful identity.

You do not need a hundred-page brand guide before you build a site. You need: a name, a logo system, two or three colours, a typeface pair and three example sentences of voice.

Our brand strategy and logo generator produce this minimum kit in one pass.

04 / NOTE

Then design the site as a test.

Treat the first website as a stress test of the identity. If the colour palette looks fine in a mood board but fights with your product photos, that is useful data.

Adjust the identity in response, and keep both moving together. Our website builder reflects changes from the library live.

05 / NOTE

Lock the identity once the site works.

Once the site feels right and the identity feels right in context, lock the choices. From then on, every new page pulls from the same source.

Consequently, later pages, ads and social posts do not slowly drift into a second, unofficial brand.
